Im-Potencia

This series is born from a feeling: powerlessness. But art allows for something the feeling alone cannot - transformation.

Each piece begins with a gesture: my hand's expression in the face of what cannot be controlled. Drawn, painted, and then observed from its four possible orientations, because no piece in this series has a single reading.

What looks like powerlessness from one orientation reveals itself as power and potential from another.

The title itself holds that duality: "Im-potencia" and "I'm potencia" are the same word, read from two different places.

This transformation - from image to data, from feeling to reflection -is part of Data Studio, my artistic research practice where art and science meet.
