Drying Out, Strengthen Within.
Research
This project is being developed in collaboration with researchers from the Argentine Institute of Nivology, Glaciology, and Environmental Sciences (CONICET).
Role
Responsible for providing data and conducting statistical analysis.
Status
Ongoing project.
As climate change increases the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, understanding how trees respond to prolonged droughts is crucial for forest conservation. Araucaria araucana, an endangered Patagonian conifer, plays a vital ecological role and provides essential ecosystem services to local communities.
By reconstructing tree growth resistance and recovery patterns, we aim to determine how this species withstands and rebounds from extreme drought conditions, offering insights into its long-term survival and adaptability in a changing climate.
